Booking

When and how to make a reservation?

Reservations can be made directly on the website or by contacting us (contact links). A 30% deposit of the total amount is required upon reserving a van. Due to high demand we suggest you book as soon as possible.

What’s the payment mode?

Several options are available, via Paypal, bank card, credit card or in cash.

What happens in case of cancellation?

You just need to contact Costa Rider Campervan more than 15 days prior to the first reservation day. You will get the whole refund on your reservation.

How much is the guarantee deposit?

The guarantee deposit is $1,200 which is made by print of the bankcard. This deposit is not debited from your account and may be used in case of an accident or fine.

What documents are necessary on the day of the rent?

For any reservation with Costa Rider Campervan, you will have to provide your passport, driver’s license (for each driver) and a bankcard.

What’s the minimum age for driving?

The minimum age for driving vehicles of Costa Rider Campervan is 21.

What’s the minimum number of days for renting?

Rents of Costa Rider Campervan vehicles are 5 days minimum.

What’s the pick-up and drop-off time limit?

Vehicles are available as from 9 am on the first day of rent and have to be returned before 3pm on the last day. We are open 7 days a week all year long. If the vehicle is dropped off 2 hours late, the customer will be charged an extra day. If you wish to extend your rent, please contact us as soon as possible to find out about our availabilities.

What happens in case of a fine?

In case of a fine, the amount corresponding to the fine will be withdrawn from the guarantee deposit on the day the fine is given.

What happens in case of an accident?

In case of an accident, please do not move the vehicle, even if it blocks the traffic and call 800-800-8000. The insurer will write the accident report for you. Costa Rider Campervan provides assistance 24 hours a day. A manual detailing the step-by-step procedures will be available in the vehicle.

Where to sleep?

How about parking at night?

You may park a Campervan anywhere in Costa Rica. A lot of free parking areas are available along the seashore or near volcanoes. Also, you may find a parking space in camping sites everywhere for a small fee. Is Costa Rica safe?

Costa Rica has a very low delinquency rate. However, for added security, Costa Rider Campervans are equipped with enclosed storage compartments, tainted glass windows and a safety box for personal documents. The model of our vehicles is very common in Costa Rica, so you will blend into the masses. In addition, your luggage and valuables may be stored at our office.

On what side of the road do people drive in Costa Rica?

People drive on the right hand side of the road in Costa Rica. More detailed information about the Highway Code will be provided in the rider’s manual in each vehicle.

Is it possible to go anywhere?

You’ll be able to go anywhere in Costa Rica. However, you should be aware that some roads are not easily accessible by car, especially during the rainy season. Also, crossing borders in a rented vehicle is not allowed.

Prices

Our prices

From 54$ to 96$ per night, we want to offer the best price/quality ratio. Our rates as they are constantly changing, but much like an airline, the further in advance you book, the more likely you will receive a cheaper price.

Minimum rental length

Our website quotes a minimum 5 days. These short bookings will have a higher daily rate than a 7 day+ rental. You can pick up the van as from 9 am on the first day of rent and drop it off before 3 pm on the last day.

Insurances

Third Partie’s Property (obligatory)

Third partie´s property (obligatory): Covers any damage to third following an accident for 80% of a total cost. (12.5$/day)

Collision Damage Waiver (obligatory)

Covers any damage to a rented vehicle resulting from an accident until 80% of a total cost : 11.5$/day.

Third party liability (optional)

Covers 100% of any damage to third party following an accident. (10$/day)

Full cover (optional):

Cover 100% of any damage to a rented vehicle and third following an accident. Protect customers in case of Theft. (18$/day)

Our Campervan

What’s the maximum capacity of passengers?

Our Campervans are designed for 3 passengers maximum. A tent may be rented for extra comfort.

What type of fuel is required?

Costa Rider Campervans run on diesel for fuel economy reasons.

What’s the vehicle consumption?

With AC on the performance of our vehicles is 30 miles per gallon (8.5L/100km).

Is the transmission automatic or manual?

Costa Rider Campervan offers both options to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Is smoking allowed in a Campervan?

For safety reasons, smoking is not allowed in a Campervan.

Is it possible to travel as a family?

If your children are over 12 years old, yeah it is possible.
